MY CRAFTY LIFE

Let’s start with a little bit of history about me. I grew up with two parents that are music teachers. My grandmother on my father’s side always knit or crochet. She would send us slippers every Christmas. She was the one who taught me how to crochet when I was young and it has stuck with me forever. I started knitting 12 years ago when I turned 40. I have played the violin since I was 9 years old and started with the piano. So you could say that music and crafts have always been a part of my life. The fine arts. In this blog I am going to give you some insights as to my process of thinking when I make my projects and items to sell in my shop and in person. Why I call myself the nexusknitter. The key word is nexus. In short it has to do with connections. Whether my items are providing that connection to someone who buys them and or gives them as a gift or whether I am using my knowledge of the skills to help someone else learn the craft that I love and make something themselves. I hope you will come along on this journey with me in this new year and new decade and maybe you will be inspired yourself. Let’s build some connections!
